16-19 Tuition Fund

The Oakes College has applied to the 16-19 Tuition Fund, which is a one-off fund for the academic year 2021-2022, to support students in English and Maths and other courses where learning has been disrupted, including specific support for students from a disadvantaged background.

Although the actual tuition does not specifically need to be for GCSE English or Maths, the students supported have either, not achieved grade 4 or above in at least one of those subjects at this level by age 16 years, or required support to catch up on missed learning.

All supported students are on a 16-19 study programme at Oakes College and have had their learning disrupted in the 2020-2021 academic year, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The College will be using this additional funding to support the eligible students through additional one-to-one and small support sessions, (no more than 5 students in a group), with a specialist member of staff at the College, to attain the expected levels of progress.
