Life as an Oakes Student

Life and building skills at Oakes as a student doesn’t have to remain in the classroom. Every week students are able to take part in exciting pastoral assemblies or workshops in their tutor groups. Students also have access to an array of extra curricular activities which can help them meet new people, develop skills, have fun, create things and more.

There are also plenty of  trips both curriculum based and enrichment based during the college year. With many experiences for students to get involved in: Politics visiting Houses of Parliament, Art visiting the Tate, Media and Film take part in a two day trip to London visiting BBFC, Sky and other Media corporations. There are also future planned trips skiing in Italy, Poland and New York.

On top of that – we have social media quizzes, inspiring seminars and challenges for students to get involved in.

We want to ensure we are enriching the lives of all our students and helping them have a positive and enjoyable education. Providing them with a wealth of opportunities to strengthen their futures.
