Exam Access Arrangements

In order to meet the requirements set by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), the vast majority of applications for Access Arrangements are processed during the Autumn Term of Year 12. See our downloads below.

If you have previously received Access Arrangements at your current/previous school/college, please complete and return the Access Arrangements Information Form below.

If you did not previously receive Access Arrangements and have a newly identified need, please complete and return the New Access Arrangements Form below,

Please also read the JCQ Data Protection Notice 2021 and complete and return with one of the aforementioned forms.

Coursework

JCQ Guidance regarding coursework is available for download at the bottom of this page. Each student should ensure that their work is their own and must sign a declaration to that effect.

Contingency Date 2026

The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) has announced the contingency day for the Summer exams series 2026 – Wednesday 24 June. This means that any students sitting external exams in Summer 2026 MUST be available until 24th June 2026 to sit any exams that had to be postponed.

Guidance

The Joint Council for Qualification (JCQ) requires that we make students aware of the rules that govern exams. Their official guidance documents can be downloaded at the bottom of this page and are also emailed to students along with their timetables in February.

Post Result Services

Details of the costs for these services are emailed to students together with their results.

Review

If a student is unhappy with their grade there are a number of services available from the exam board whereby the grade can be reviewed. Students need to be aware that a review can reduce a grade as well as improve it. Application forms and further details are available from the exam office.

Script Copy

Students are able to apply for a copy of their script if they wish. A fee may be involved.

Resits

Students who wish to resit an exam can do so the following year at their own expense. An application form is available from the exams office and needs to be returned together with payment by mid January; the exact date will be shown on the form.

Results Day 2026

A-Level Results will be issued on Thursday 13th August 2026.
