A-Level Physics
Physics tells us stories about how the world works and leads to exciting technologies that can improve our lives.
Year 12
Your study will include imaging (digital cameras to brain scans), sensing, communication (email, fax and mobile phone), designer materials, waves and quantum behaviour, space and time.
Year 13
You will study the universe, its origins and future, matter in extremes, very hot and very cold, fields (electric and magnetic), fundamental particles and ionising radiation.

Exam Board: OCR Physics B
Three examinations:
Paper 1 : 41%
Multiple choice and structured questions
Paper 2 : 37%
Structured questions, extended response and advanced notice material
Paper 3 : 22%
Structured questions, problem solving, calculations and practical skills
Entry Requirements:
7 Higher Grades:
- GCSE Maths Grade 6 and Combined Science Grade 6-6 or Physics Grade 6
- Grade 4 (or above) for English
- Grade 4 (or above) for other GCSE subjects
- 1 BTEC (or equivalent) at Merit or above may be included within the 7 grades
